Mark Hamel
Mark R. Hamel is a Lean Six Sigma implementation consultant for Moffitt Associates and has spent the last several years facilitating the successful Lean transformation of 5 manufacturers at both the strategic and tactical level. In public and private industry he has conducted numerous value stream mapping workshops and facilitated over 350 kaizen events with typical and sustainable double digit percentage improvements in lead time, productivity, floor space usage, quality performance and inventory levels. Prior to consulting, Mark had a 19 year career spanning several industries, including flexible packaging, aerospace and defense, food flavorings, commercial mining products and public accounting. His roles have encompassed executive and senior operations positions (COO, VP of Ops, Director level), strategic planning and business development, JIT promotion office management, controllership and audit engagement management. His lean education and experience began in the early 1990's when he conceptualized and helped launch what resulted in a 2002 Shingo award winning effort at the Ensign-Bickford Company.
Mark holds a BS in Mathematics from Trinity College in Hartford, CT and a MS in Professional Accounting from the University of Hartford where he graduated with honors. He is a CPA in the state of Connecticut and is dual APICS certified in production and inventory management (CPIM) and integrated resource management (CIRM). Mark is a qualified Shingo Prize examiner, has helped develop exam questions for the new AME/SME/Shingo Lean Certification and is Juran certified as a 6 Sigma Black Belt.
